The National Innovative Technopreneur Contest - TECHFEST VIETNAM is held within the framework of the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival - TECHFEST 2023. The annual contest is under the guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), with the organizing committee composed of The National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC), the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOV), Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF) in collaboration with The National Program 844 (ISEV), and The National Startup Support Center (NSSC).
The National Innovative Technopreneur Contest 2023 is a program to seek, support, and honor startups and innovative businesses of Vietnamese at home and abroad with their efforts to apply using science, technology, and innovation to solve problems of business and society.
The annual contest aims to provide Vietnamese entrepreneurs and businesses connections to financial resources, development partners, knowledge sources, and expert support. Participating businesses have the opportunity to receive attractive financial awards and support packages totaling up to $760,000, with the chance to connect with over 50 domestic funds and international investors throughout the contest stages. Additionally, they benefit from media sponsorship and promotion through a network of over 200 media agencies, along with support and capacity enhancement from over 100 multidisciplinary organizations and 150 experts.
After over three months of implementation, the contest has achieved notable results, including nearly 500 registrations with over 350 high-quality profiles, over 1,000,000 social media engagements, and a total prize value of over $760,000 for participating teams. There were over 100 partnering entities, including 34 technology villages and supporting units such as Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam, Korea IT Cooperation Center in Hanoi, Droppii, and others. Additionally, over 18 technology villages and startup competitions from nominated provinces, over 150 investors, startup experts, innovation professionals, and experienced technology advisors across various fields participated, offering nearly 100 hours of training, advising, fundraising presentations, and business connections. Representatives from over 80 media agencies, including VTV, HTV, ANTV, also contributed to the event.
The final round of the National Innovative Technopreneur Contest - TECHFEST VIETNAM 2023 took place on November 24, 2023, at the HCMC Party Committee Hall, No. 111 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. The event was broadcasted live on various social media platforms for interested individuals both within and outside the country. In the final results, BUYO emerged as the Champion of the contest, while the First Runner-up and the Second Runner-up were secured by AIRX CARBON and CENERGY. Of special note is the opportunity to participate in the Shinhan Square Bridge Global Track Award, valued at $60,000, available for the top 5 startups within the Top 10. This includes opportunities to engage with experts, seek funding, and expand connections in Korea and globally, involving: AirX Carbon, BUYO, Beekids, Toothless (Diaflow), Trainizi.
Furthermore, the National Innovative Technopreneur Contest - TECHFEST VIETNAM 2023, a large-scale playground for the Vietnamese startup community, has officially concluded, leaving a significant impact and positive values within the startup ecosystem. Beyond the tireless efforts of the Organizers, the support, contributions, and assistance from supporting entities, partners, and accompanying experts were pivotal factors in the success of this year's contest.
The primary supporting entities of the Contest, including Shinhan Square Bridge, Shinhan Bank, Droppii, MSD, Korea IT Cooperation Center, Amazon Web Service, Alibaba Cloud, Google, Block71, Diamond Place Convention Center, have been steadfast companions throughout the organization's journey. Their substantial support significantly enhanced the program's scale and reputation, contributing to a splendid success for this year's contest. Through the trust and collaboration of these entities, the contest concluded with impressive figures, discovering deserving entrepreneurial talents and further solidifying its position within the Vietnamese startup ecosystem.
Additionally, over 100 partnering entities, encompassing comprehensive partners, investment funds, community partners, and media partners, have played a vital role in amplifying the National Innovative Technopreneur Contest - TECHFEST VIETNAM 2023 influence within the national startup community.
